TensioMed TensioDay Plus
With
its outstanding ability, TensioDay Plus is surely more than meets the
eye.
TensioDay Plus is a revolutionary new technology in the field of ABPM.
With the invasively validated method it can additionally measure the
central systolic blood pressure beyond the traditional parameters of a
blood pressure measurement. By this outstanding feature the diurnal
changes in the peripheral and central, aortic blood pressure can be
measured simultaneously, which has basic importance in the assessment
of the action of different antihypertensive drugs.
ADDITIONAL PARAMETERS
- Aortic
systolic blood pressure (SBPao)
- Aortic
pulse pressure (PPao)
Traditionally
measured parameters
- Systolic
and diastolic blood pressure (Sys, Dia)
- Mean
arterial pressure (MAP)
- Pulse
pressure (PP)
- Heart
rate (HR)
What is
Aortic systolic blood pressure?
The central systolic blood pressure is the pressure of the aortic root
– the initial phase of the aorta.
How does
Aortic systolic blood pressure differ from Peripheral Blood pressure?
There is a significant physiological difference between the central and
the traditionally measured blood pressure. The reason is that the
elastic type aorta is more dilatable than the muscular brachial artery.
With age and the developement of atherosclerosis, the elasticity of the
aorta decreases thus the central systolic pressure increases, which is
also facilitated by the increasing vascular tone caused by endothelial
dysfunction. By the measurement of central BP, important information
could be obtained on target organ damage.
